Our Kennel

Dit zijn wij met onze Welsh Springers :-)

How it all started..

We bought our first  Welsh Springer Spaniel in 1973,  Floyd of Speldermark (Plattburn Partner ex Tidemarsh Ruby), bred by Mrs. Ohmstede (Speldermark). We enjoyed him very much and showed him just once at a local clubshow where he won a first place.

The follow-up...

Our second Welsh, Vilmar van Snellestein, came to live with us in 1985 he was shown for the first time at 2 years of age and won his class at the WSSC championship clubshow, he was shown a few more times after that with excellent results and 2 RCC's. He sired 3 litters,  his first litter was born at kennel Of The Yasmin Garden where he was bred to Heide Roosemarijn van Snellestein, she gave birth to a litter of 5 puppies, one of these turned out to be a Dutch & German Champion: Blue Lupine of The Yasmin Garden. The second  litter he sired was at kennel Dadidoc's, dam was Dadidoc's Lady Allowyn this litter didn't result a champion but one of the boys has been used at stud as well. The third and last litter he sired was a litter of our own, unplanned but still very welcome, at 15 years of age he sired a litter of 5, dam is Dadidoc' s Damsel Delwen's last litter and from this litter we kept Celine.nel waar hij ons teefje Dadidoc's Damsel Delwen dekte en uit dit nestje hielden wij zelf Celine.

Celine has been lightly shown with excellent results, she's got good hips (B) and passed her eye test every single time. March 20th 2002 Celine whelped her first litter sired by Ch. Inma's Quinto. From this litter we kept Allways Angelina des Vauriennes "Angel" in co-ownership. September 28th 2001 was a very special birthday for Heleen, a new puppy from Finland arrived: Benton Kansas Storm "Kaine. Sired by the well known Ch. Benton Everybody Duck out of Ch. Benton Delaware Storm this boy has proven to be a worthy addition to our kennel. Even though Kaine never liked the show ring he did pick up a few titles along the way: European Junior Winner'02 Belgian Junior Winner'02, Belgian Winner'04, Amsterdam Winner'05, Dutch champion and a Top Dog of the Year show qualifier. Kaine has sired many lovely puppies around the world.

May 9th 2003 Celine whelped 8 puppies sired by Kaine, from this litter we kept  Dawn over Delaware des Vauriennes "Dawn" at home. Dawnie has picked up a few titles while we were showing her: German and Luxembourg Junior Champion, Europajugendsiegerin'04 & Klubschau jugendsiegerin'04, Kasselsieger'06, Rheinbergsieger'07 & German VDH Champion.  In Holland  she won 3 CC´s and a reserve CC. Celine was bred to Kaine again the year after and whelped 9 puppies this time. Evidence des Vauriennes moved to Sweden where she was made up to a Swedish Show Champion. Celine whelped her 4th and last litter in November of 2006 sired by Ger Ch  Break My Heart Welsh of Salt and Pepper. This time she had 7 puppies, Forget Me Not des Vauriennes, moved to Australia where she was made up to an Australian champion.

Celine's daughter Angel has only been lightly shown, nevertheless she won 2 CC's and her results were always excellent. She's got A hips and passed her eye test as well. Angel whelped her first litter sired by Kaine in 2004. We kept Seven Rings of Dew des Vauriennes "Dewi"  in co-ownership. Dewi finished her German junior championship with ease and also picked up the Bundesjugendsiegerin title in 2005. Her litterbrother  Smarty Frodo des Vauriennes was exported to Australia at 12 months of age. He finished his Australian champion title and has sired quite a few puppies of which a few have already won the title as well. Frodo is now retired. Unfortunately Dewi passed away in 2008 at just 4 years of age after a tragic accident.

In 2004 we also got a new breed in our kennel, a little brown girl from Sweden arrived: Larix Diamonds ´n Pearls, sired by one of the top dogs in Sweden, Ch. Barecho Fun for the Future out of Rowntree Jade Jewel. Although Phoebe won her first CC from junior class she was slow to mature, after her litter whelped in 2006 she returned to the showring in 2007. What a year it has been, Phoebe was made up to a champion and her daughters finished their junior champion titles. Phoebe also did really well in the group and this did not only earn her the Top Springer of the Year award but also Top Gundog of the year.

Dawn whelped her first litter in 2005, we traveled to Denmark to breed her to My Welsh I Can Do It. From this litter we kept  Chelsea Michigama des Vauriennes "Katie". Katie was doing really well in the show ring, but doesn't like it anymore. In her junior career she did manage to pick up the Dutch junior champion title, a CC and 2 reserve CC's. Katie has excellent hips (A), passed her eyetest and her thyroid function is normal.

As we mentioned before we also bred Phoebe in 2006, from this litter we kept Circle of Life des Vauriennes in co-ownership. Noyana won her Junior champion title in just 3 shows as did her sister Under the Stars des Vauriennes "Laluna". Laluna also won the Dutch champion title and went Best of Breed at the Amsterdam Winner show.

The future...

In 2007 Trystyn's Wolverine State arrived in our kennel, we have waited for over 5 years for this little girl! We are very grateful to Sandy & Greg for this little charmer. Stacy is sired by Ch. Trystyn's Country Cabernet out of Ch. Trystyn's Get Your Wings. Stacy passed all of her health tests, hips, elbows, eyes, thyroid and heart and has had some excellent results in the ring. Although Stacy looks very flashy she much prefers a day out in the field flushing pheasants and other birds. We had hoped to bring some new lines to our kennel with Stacy, unfortunately that is not going to happen.

Dawn whelped her second and last litter in December 2007. We had been waiting for Dawn to come in season for months and when she finally did I couldn't go! Well fortunately Tabitha and her friend Jenny made it possible anyway, Dawn flew to Sweden where she was bred to Ch. Ta Wei's Repris and 9 weeks later 8 puppies were born.  Deze 2 dames hebben het mogelijk gemaakt dat Dawn gedekt kon worden door Prisse (Ta-Wei's Repris). We kept little Flying at Dawn des Vauriennes "Pia". Pia made her show debut going reserve Best puppy in Show and has won some excellent results since. Pia has got excellent hips (A), passed her eye test and has a normal thyroid function.

In October of 2008  Redfrith Hurrikaine Faye joined our kennel, sired by our own Kaine out of Ir Sh Ch Redfrith Aberfeldy. Faye is a very smart young girl, she also had a short but pretty successful show career ending it by winning the Amsterdam Junior Winner title in November of 2009.

In November of 2008  Katie whelped her first litter, also sired by Ta Wei's Repris. We kept Wild Ride des Vauriennes "Chazzy". The biggest puppy out of the litter but what a charmer, she has got the most wonderful personality. We love her to bits. She has also won her first BOB & BOS puppy and baby awards. She already passed her eye test and was scored with B/B hips. We hope to breed her in 2011!

In January of 2010 I picked up our latest addition from Chelsea, Michigan. A niece of our lovely Stacy: Trystyn's Crime of Passion. Thanks Sandy for this lovely little girl!
